An updated meta-analysis of 12 studies (including 2 randomized controlled trials) encompassing more than 2,700 patients found that hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) combined with cytoreductive surgery and systemic therapy improved progression-free survival and overall survival in colorectal cancer patients with peritoneal metastases.
