Multiple intratumoral bacteria show stronger association with colorectal cancer than single species

A Vietnamese cohort study found that co-detection of three bacterial species (F. nucleatum, A. muciniphila, and eae+ E. coli) was associated with a 21-fold increased odds of colorectal cancer compared to polyps, suggesting community-level bacterial interactions may drive tumor development.
